Recognizing a critical need

This center aims to provide a holistic and evidence-based approach to address the complex needs of families experiencing trauma and substance abuse disorder while focusing on delivering outcomes and recovery-based care. This facility will provide a supportive and healing environment for Individuals and families struggling with substance abuse issues. Our approach emphasizes a multi-disciplinary, person-centered, and family-focused model to address the diverse needs of those seeking recovery in Saskatchewan.

Who we serve

The Carter House will target women and families who:

  • Must relinquish care of their children to access treatment.
  • Are seeking treatment to regain custody of their children.
  • Are at risk of having their children apprehended due to substance use.

Full-Time Staff

The Family Treatment Centre has full time staff that includes physician support, nursing support, elder support, addictions support, social work support, recreational therapy support and educational support.
In addition, this treatment model includes outpatient support and services for these families once their 3-month treatment stay is complete to ensure success as these families integrate back into the community.
